Javier Khalil Rosado-Millan

Music Therapy Intern

Javier was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico until he was 15 years of age. His family then migrated to Orlando, Florida where he stumbled upon choir in high school and found his passion for music and singing. Javier is currently a senior at Florida Gulf Coast University where he is studying to complete a Bachelors of Music Therapy. He recently relocated to Tampa to start his internship at MTSP and he is super excited to gain experience as a music therapist while helping people through music. While living in Fort Myers and attending college, Javier worked as a classical singer with Opera Naples, a chorale singer with The Symphonic Chorale of Southwest Florida, a singer at multiple church gigs, and he also worked as a retail associate. Javier was also the Nominations Chair in the MTA club at the Bower School Music and the Arts. There, he took an active part in advocating for music therapy through social media, music therapy events, and university events.

Javier enjoys state parks, museums, visiting the zoo, traveling, movies, and quality time with his family and friends. He loves his rabbit Ezra, lasagna, pandas, watching the sunset at the beach, cooking, and creating new connections with people. If you asked him what his favorite musical experience is, he would probably tell you about the time he sang at the white house, or about the time he met Eric Whitacre during a choral festival, or about playing the role of Gomez during his last theater production with his high school in the musical The Addams Family, or about the time he sang…
